Terms and Conditions of Trade

All prices quoted in US$ are approximate and although we update our database daily, we cannot be responsible for any fluctuation in exchange rates. Since we are a British company, all charges will be made in UK pounds sterling.

Full payment is required prior to us raising the order on the factory. Customers have the right to cancel their order at any time prior to its dispatch for a full refund, however, if the goods have already been received by us from the manufacturer, or are in transit to us it may not be possible to for us to return the goods to the factory, therefore a 20% restocking charge will apply. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact us prior to placing your order.

All delivery times are given in good faith, and in most cases we are relying on the manufacturer to supply the goods within their estimated delivery time. Delivery times vary between manufacturers, and should you require goods by a specific date please contact us and we would be happy to check stock at the factory prior to you placing your order. Delivery times will be stated in your order acknowledgment, but on average, we do ask you to allow 4 weeks for delivery. Should we anticipate any major delays we will contact you - please note delays at the manufacturer are not within our control but we will do our best to keep you notified with any information we have from the factory.

All shipments are fully insured, and in the unlikely event of loss or damage to your shipment, we will supply replacements free of charge. Where replacements are not available, a full refund or exchange for an alternative item will be offered. Customers must report breakages within 7 days of receipt and China Etc reserves the right to request a photograph or return of the damaged/faulty item(s).

Any goods returned by customers to China Etc, other than faulty/damaged items, will be subject to a 20% restocking and administration charge. Refunds due will be for merchandise only, minus any restocking and administration charge. Shipping costs and import duties will not be refunded, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. All returns must be authorised by China Etc and take place within 7 days of receipt. Goods must be unused and in their original packaging. Goods being returned with a high value will result in  a customs charge to China Etc so to avoid refusal please ensure you contact us first for return instructions. For faulty/damaged items we will arrange collection in most cases.

Shipments sent outside of the European Union may be subject to import duties which are the responsibility of the purchaser, or in the case of a gift shipment, import duties may be charged to the recipient. Please note, we have no control over these and recommend that you contact your local authorities for further information on this subject. Please note, it is the customers responsibility to ensure import duty, if applicable, is paid when requested. Unpaid duty may result in the return of your order to us, or in some cases, destruction. No refund will be issued for goods destroyed in this manner, and in the event of the shipment being returned to us, we reserve the right to charge for re-shipment if requested, or otherwise, any refund due for merchandise will be minus any shipping costs, return shipping & administration costs.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure correct delivery details are supplied at the time of purchase, as China Etc cannot be liable for non-delivery of shipments due to incorrect delivery details being supplied to us. Should shipments be returned to us because of delivery failure, China Etc reserves the right to charge the customer for re-shipment of the goods and any charges levied for the goods coming back to us. All overseas shipments are by Federal Express and inland deliveries are by Business Post. We require a signature for all shipments and it is the customer's responsibility to ensure there is somebody to accept delivery of the parcel. Where customers in the USA have signed a release authorising Federal Express to leave the parcels without a signature, any shipments which are lost or damaged after being left in this manner are the customers responsibility and no liability will be attached to China Etc.

Gift Certificates must be used within 12 months of issue, or they will expire. Gift Certificates may be used in full, or partially. Where the gift certificate is not used in full, the balance will remain available for 12 months from the original date of issue to be used against a future purchase. If the entire gift certificate, or remaining balance of a gift certificate is not redeemed within 12 months from the original date of issue, then it will expire and will be no longer valid. No cash/credit card refunds may be issued on gift certificates or gift certificate balances.
